My Truth: Leadership to Entrepreneurship to Mediumship Part 1 of 3
I have a story to tell. My story unfolds in three distinct yet interconnected parts, each representing a pivotal stage in my ongoing journey toward self-discovery and purpose.
Part one is rooted in Leadership, where I found myself navigating the complexities of guiding teams and organizations through both victories and challenges. It was during this time that I learned the importance of empathy, communication and resilience. I tried to inspire those around me while grappling with my own uncertainties. My take aways during this time in my life were invaluable; they taught me how to harness determination, strength and vision while handling diverse individuals.
I spent many years in leadership roles, I have come to see myself as a visionary leader. I operated out of a belief system where I was in role to be of service to the people. My leadership style has always been collaborative, working alongside my teams to show the way toward a greater good. Through collective success, my leadership style resulted in high survey scores and footprints of impact. I worked hard to build a reputation for growth and positive change through action. I was dedicated, motivated.
My leadership journey carried a lot of challenges, I encountered peers and superiors who were driven by competition, deception and envy. I intuitively knew I was feared rather than supported. In some ways, I was used for their own gains. My development and growth was sacrificed to keep people around me "looking good" so they could propel onward and upward. Information and merits were withheld from me. It became an exhausting battle to find justice when the ones with the authority to provide justice were a part of the toxic problem I was trying to address.
It became more apparent that I was struggling with alignment. It felt as though every time I turned around, there was a new battle of challenges and obstacles that left me feeling drained. I was neglecting my own needs, prioritizing the expectations of others over my well being. I lost sight of who I was.
I always carried a silent whisper that I was meant for more than what I was doing. My environment was keeping me small. The cookie cutter limitations set in the workforce prevented me from utilizing skills and talents that I secretly possessed. I yearned to reconnect with the passions that once lit up my spirit.
Through a self-reflective lens, the realization hit home. I was keeping myself small by not making the right changes to remove myself from those toxic environments. I needed more heart, more purpose, and to use myself as a vessel to make more impact on a broader scale with people. Today, I know the challenges and obstacles were serving as redirectives while stretching me for resilience and guiding me toward a more authentic, purposeful path.
In 2024, I broke free from traditional systems of leadership while stepping toward my true purpose. I have connected my leadership skills into an entrepreneurship journey with clear vision, innovation, and strategic thinking.
